Since opening its doors, MSC has played a vital role in specialty metal manufacturing, national defense, and scientific advancement — all from its long-standing home in the heart of the Oak Ridge industrial community.


From the early days of casting and rolling depleted uranium to today's broad capabilities in specialty metal fabrication, MSC has maintained a reputation for excellence. Over the past four decades, MSC has remained the only commercial company in the world capable of casting, rolling, and machining depleted uranium, supporting mission-critical projects across defense, energy, and research sectors.

But this milestone wasn’t just about looking back — it was also about celebrating the people who made it all possible.


A Sweet Start to the Day

To honor the 40-year milestone, MSC employees were treated to a well-deserved celebration during the workday. Morning break was extra special with fresh doughnuts from Beaver’s Dough-Joe, a beloved local favorite. From maple bacon to classic glazed, the sweet spread was a hit and served as the perfect kickoff to the festivities.


A Lunchtime Toast with Mellow Mushroom

The celebration continued into the afternoon as the MSC team gathered for a catered lunch from Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers. With a variety of creative pies, employees enjoyed a relaxed and social lunch hour — a moment to reflect on the company’s growth, share stories, and look ahead to what’s next.
