On Wednesday, May 26th, MSC celebrated earning its 5th Volunteer STAR Safety Award. A ceremony was held where President Jeff Jansen received the STAR crystal from Deputy Director of TN Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Dewayne Scott and TOSHA VPP Star Program Manager, David Blessman. The ceremony was followed by a luncheon of chicken/pork tenderloin/mashed potatoes/summer spinach salad. Other attendees included Wendy Fisher, Assistant Commissioner of TOSHA and Steve Morrison, TOSHA Compliance. The award is the state’s highest honor for workplace safety and health and is a nationally recognized program patterned after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). MSC is currently only 1 of 35 Volunteer STAR Sites in Tennessee.
