MSC acquires, casts, rolls, machines, recycles and analyzes depleted uranium in one licensed facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We take on complex projects with proven results, not routine job-shop work.
Depleted uranium is a dense, high-performance material that few facilities are licensed to handle. MSC works with it as metal and as oxide.
Vacuum induction melted into ingots and near-net shapes, rolled into plate and sheet, and machined to finished parts.
MSC works extensively with depleted uranium oxide, supported by the same license, safety program and laboratory.
Depleted uranium is roughly 70 percent denser than lead. That makes it valuable wherever a great deal of mass or radiation shielding has to fit in a small space.
Customers use it in nuclear energy and research, medical radiation equipment, aerospace, and defense. Working with it takes a radioactive materials license, specialized equipment and trained people, which is what MSC provides.
Our radioactive materials license lets MSC acquire depleted uranium for your program and process it in our own facility. For some customers we supply it to licensed partners.
That means one accountable team handles the material and the manufacturing, so you do not have to source, ship and track it yourself.
Download the safety data sheet for each material we handle. No sign-up needed.
